Andrew Tate: Internets Well Known Red Flag

Who is he?

Andrew Tate is an American-British social media personality, businessman and former kickboxer, perhaps better known for his misogynistic commentary on various social media platforms. He has been widely criticized for the same and is banned on several platforms.

Issues

He has described himself as “absolutely sexist” and “absolutely a misogynist”. In 2017, he came under scrutiny for tweeting that depression ‘isn’t real’. With a history of making homophobic and racist comments on twitter, his morality is clearly in the gray.

Even after severe backlash, he has made blatantly misogynistic statements, such as ‘women belong in the kitchen’, ‘women can’t drive’ and that they are ‘given to the man and belong to the man’. He has also claimed that women bear some responsibility for being sexually assaulted and that they have no ‘innate responsibility and honor.’ This 36-year old’s comments are enough to turn anyone green with disgust, stating that ‘men prefer dating 18-year-olds and 19-year-olds because they are likely to have had sex with fewer men.’

Tate has co-owned a webcam business with his brother, scamming hundreds of people. He later bragged that he didn’t feel any guilt because “no one cares” and “it’s their problem not mine”

Andrew Tate is known for his outspoken support of Donald Trump, who he sees as an exemplary ‘alpha male.’ Tate also spoke out against COVID lockdowns and vaccine mandates, despite the voluminous evidence showing that vaccines are effective at preventing hospitalization and death from COVID-19.

Perhaps the scariest part of it all is his scope of his influence on the younger generation. Young men and teenagers mistake his expensive cars for success ; his misogyny for masculinity. Impressionable children are being exposed to his toxic ideal of a ‘real man’. Many children have taken to social media to defend Tate and protest against his arrest. Society, as whole, must be restructured to focus on morals to prevent this incident from reccurring.

Current state

In December 2022, Tate tagged the environmentalist Greta Thunberg in a tweet extolling his carbon-emitting automobiles and asked for her email address to give her more information. Thunberg replied with the fake email address "smalldickenergy@getalife.com". The exchange received substantial attention on Twitter, with Thunberg's retort quickly becoming one of the most-liked tweets ever.

Showing a frankly astounding amount of immaturity, Tate took to twitter to make a weak retort, promising to ensure that his pizza boxes wouldn’t be recycled. Ironically, the pizza boxes were used as ‘proof that he was in the country’ by the authorities and led to his arrest the next day. He was charged with human trafficking and forming an organized crime group. Romanian police allege that victims were coerced into creating paid pornography for social media through false displays of affection.

Tate is due to be tried later this month and will likely be convicted of all charges. You could say 2022 got some Twittergreyhonour36-year-old’s,theand a recurringTwitterlast-minuteleaning done to christen the new year. Clearly, Greta’s mission to rid the planet of toxins is proceeding splendidly.
